AHI Strategic Direction
2022 and beyond

Organisational shift kick-starts our 2022 strategic roll-out

AHI - Still ‘protecting what matters most’

AHI’s purpose has always been to “protect what matters most”, and COVID-19 has not changed that. We continue to be the trusted partner that understands our clients’ evolving needs and provides them with advice based on our award-winning team's knowledge and expertise.

We were fortunate to have begun our digital transformation before the impact of COVID started to be felt, this meant minimal disruption for our staff, enabling continuity of service to our brokers and clients for underwriting and claims.

As we adjusted to operating in the remote world of “business as usual”, we took the opportunity to reassess our business, claims and underwriting service and how we engage with our broker partners. As such, we’re ready to deliver our strategy for 2022 and beyond.

What We Will Deliver to Brokers

With key new hires already in place, and the realignment of some of our most experienced staff, we look forward to:

  • Enhancing broker relationships to give you more opportunities to embed your own client relationships
  • Rebalancing our portfolio so we continue our long-term support of brokers and clients
  • Driving outcomes that mean we can protect what matters most to brokers and their clients, including financial and reputational success
  • Growing our award-winning culture to ensure you continue to vote us as your gold medal ‘Accident and Health Agency’ for both Claims and Underwriting services

How We Will Deliver It

Steve Ord, AHI’s Executive Managing Director says, “The realignment of our staff and key new hires are the first step in delivering on our goal to provide market-leading underwriting and claims service to our broker family, and their clients.

AHI has been ‘protecting what matters’ most for over 20 years, and during that time we’ve maintained our approach to sustainable underwriting to ensure we’re here for the long-term, and that’s why you’ll see a renewed focus from our team in working with you to achieve the best outcomes for you and your clients.”

Underwriting

With over 30 years experience each, David Foote, National Development Manager and Steve Bardsley, Northern Region Underwriting Manager, will be providing our underwriting teams with a depth of expertise and level of coordination between our regional centres that means we can further refine our market-facing service to brokers.

In Underwriting, Kelly Finn will now fulfill the role of Underwriting and Service Centre Manager. Kelly’s continued commitment to quality of service and technical delivery will drive better outcomes and an enhanced customer experience for Brokers and their clients.

Operations

In a newly created role, our longest standing employee, Renato Foenander will now be our Head of Operations – driving relationships with our vendors and partners and supporting the execution of our strategic direction internally.

Claims

As Renato moves into his new role, our current 2IC in Claims, Sharon Richardson, will move into the Head of Claims position. Sharon’s extensive experience and depth of expertise in managing our claims team will enable a seamless transition.

Governance and Compliance

As regulations continue to tighten across the industry, Hugh Ross will now solely focus on governance and compliance. Providing Brokers and their clients with the comfort and security that AHI cares about your clients and your reputation. Hugh’s wealth of industry experience has him uniquely placed to manage this ever-changing landscape, and as such will fill our new specialised role of Head of Governance and Compliance.
